Mark has been racing at a high competitive level since he was 12 years old and took up triathlon in 1991. Since then he has raced over 400 triathlon, duathlon, cycle, running and multi sport events.
Mark was the only athlete in the UK, and possibly the world, to qualify outright for the ITU age group World Olympic, Ironman 70.3 and Ironman World Championships in 2007 and raced to a handful of 1st place finishes along the way.
Mark was the fastest British finisher overall (including all professional athletes) at the Hawaii Ironman in 2004 and has qualified outright and competed at various World and European Championship events including:
World Ironman Championships in Kona, Hawaii (157th overall / 39th age group)
World Ironman 70.3 Championships in Clearwater, Florida (58th overall / 6th in age group)
2 x ITU World Long Course Championships, Nice, France
ETU Long Course Championships in Almere, Netherlands (16th overall / 5th age group)
World Olympic Distance Championships, Lausanne, Switzerland
4 x Olympic Distance World Championships (qualified for but not raced)
Mark has been coached for 8 years by three of the worlds most experienced and well known coaches (Chris Jones, Glenn Cook, Paul Huddle/Paula Newby Fraser), and these experiences have influenced how he coaches his clients and athletes. Mixing Joe Friels methology and Marks own unique training methods, this creates a powerful training formula!
Mark is the Technical Director / Head Coach for Amphibians 2 Triathlon Club (A2Tri Club) based in Horsham, West Sussex, where he coaches athletes from 15 - 80 years old. He designs and creates a fun, dynamic swimming programme fo all levls of triathletes and can do the same for your club too.
Mark is a Master Spinning Instructor. He teaches people to become qualified Spinning Instructors, and coaches exsisting instructors in furthering their qualifications and experience through continuing education (workshops, lectures, master classes, national and international fitness events).
Michelle became interested in triathlon after watching Mark race in triathlons and has since raced all distances.
Michelle completed her first Ironman in under 13hrs at the 2007 Switzerland Ironman and more recently at the 2008 Challenge Roth Ironman distance race in Germany in 12hr 19min 52sec (a 33min personal best!).
Since then, Michelle has now realised her ambition of also becoming a Master Instructor for the Spinning programme.
Mark and Michelle teach all over the world at the largest fitness events, and coach people to become qualified Spinning Instructors. They also tutor and lecture existing Spinning instructors in furthering their education by teaching continuing education courses.
Mark and Michelle both have a passion for skiing in the off season and regularly train at their French base in Haute Provence, French Alps, France.
